Ultra-Low-Loss, Laminate-Lined, Overmoded HE11 Miter Bends for the 100 -750 GHz Range
- Reduce transmission losses in the mmw and THz ranges by factors up to 1 million by switching from traditional TE10 fundamental mode rectangular waveguides to the new Laminate Lined Waveguides (LLWGs) with overmoded HE11. That requires an HE11 launcher, and it usually requires uptapers, miter bends, bidirectional couplers, and HE11-to-rectangular transitions.
- The Doty HE11 miter bends utilize a highly optimized profile for a right-angle bend of quasi-Gaussian HE11 with unmatched efficiency, bandwidth, and mode purity.
- Gold-plated precision brass body and flanges (UG-383/U or UG-387/U) and optimally cut laminate lining for highest performance in small miter bends.
- Available in three sizes (6.35, 9.53, and 12.7 mm OD), for all frequency bands from 100 GHz to 750 GHz. The frequency range is determined by the thickness of the PTFE laminate lining, not by the diameter. Performance is essentially independent of the polarization angle.
