The surface coil features elliptical geometry with 20 mm major and 16 mm minor axes. The major axis is oriented parallel to the RF cable. Curvature, with inside radius of 9 mm oriented along minor axis, allows the coil to wrap around mouse head. The coil center material is removed. We’ve also supplied a 25 mm round coil, 14 mm inside radius of curvature.
The curved surface coil is often used for Receive only, with active detuning, using a volume coil for the Transmit pulse.
