New MRI Publication on Development of a 15.2 T, 2 channel, multinuclear (H/X) MRI coil.

“H/X RF modules utilizing orthogonal optimized Litz-foil coils promise to make fully multi-nuclear pre-clinical MRI more practical.” Doty Scientific, with Weizmann Institute, has published a paper on the development of the 15.2 T, 2 channel, multinuclear (H/X) MRI coil.  1H/2H pregnant mouse studies were performed at Weismann Institute showing water transport and metabolism in mouse fetal organs. “Efficient H/X volume coils make experiments much easier than working with surface coils by capturing multiple large clear slices throughout multiple organs over large regions at ...

Now Hiring: Lead Electrical Engineer

Now Hiring: Lead Electrical Engineer / Applied Physicist — Microwave/THz, RF Controls, and Scientific Instrumentation: Doty Scientific is seeking an exceptional electrical engineer or applied physicist to lead instrumentation development for advanced NMR/DNP probe systems and to support MRI pre-clinical rf coil products. Current projects include ultra-low-temperature NMR-DNP probes, HE11 THz passive components, tunable/matchable THz cavities, solid-state-THz-source protection, cold UHF RF passive circuitry, and automatic tune/match systems for NMR probes. This is a hands-on technical leadership role in a small R&D/product ...

The New H/F/X/Y Ultra High Field, NB, No-E Two-coil NMR Probe

The Ultra High Field H/F/X/Y NB probe is suitable for HR-MAS – on liquids, semi-solids, tissues, and solids – at fields from 7 T to 23.4 T with rotors from 1.3 mm to 3 mm.  Up to 30 T with 1.3 mm. Probe tuning was simulated to 1300 MHz. The probe was physically tuned to 500 MHz, 800 MHz, and 1 GHz. Clean UHF H/F tuning on the H/F/X/Y probe was captured with ...

> Ever Higher – 15.2 T MRI, 1H and 2H Imaging

Doty Scientific supplied a unique 15.2 T,  1H -19F/X MRI coil for mouse body (or rat brain).  The coil was delivered  to the Weizmann Institute just before the ENC in 2024.  The high field strength, 15.2 T, and tight spacing (59 mm OD with two coils and a 36 mm ID) made this dual-frequency coil quite challenging. The dual-frequency coil has one coil for high frequency, H-F,  where the coil is tunable from 1H to 19F.  The multinuclear X channel was tuned to 2H ...

> 3 New Doty Technologies Were Presented in Technical Posters

Doty Scientific scientists presented three important posters at the 2025 ENC/ISMAR Conference poster session.  Some discussion and links to the posters are presented below. The first poster, a collaboration between Doty Scientific and Weizmann Institute,  shows impressive images from a unique MRI coil for mouse body or rat brain which was delivered to the Weizmann Institute just before the ENC last year. The high field strength, 15.2 T, and tight spacing (59 mm OD with two coils and a 36 mm ...

> It’s Been a Busy Year at Doty Scientific

It has been a busy year. We may have seen you at last year's ENC at Asilomar or IMS in Washington DC. Maybe in Colorado for the Rocky Mountain conference or in Atlanta for SEMRC. Along with building NMR probes and MRI coils, exciting advancements continue in our Switched Angle Spinning (SAS) and Ultra Low Temperature (ULT) NMR Probe developments. We are excited about our new No-E two-coil XVT NMR probe - available up to ...

> Rat Spinal Cord Imaging on Unique Imaging Coils

A customer contacted us with a request to build custom coils for their studies on rat spinal cord, both in vivo and ex vivo, motivated by performance issues related to RF homogeneity and shielding exhibited in current OEM coils.  A quadrature volume coil with 56 mm ID was constructed for the in vivo imaging (on awake or mildly anesthetized rats), and was utilized at the study onset.  The volume coil’s excellent sensitivity made it possible to generate high resolution ...
